MP3
I went to amazon. It was easy to set up an account. But there was only a few music clips that were actually free. I did try to download one but I had to go through another screen and fill out personal details to install the programme to run the music. After all that I was denied because of being outside USA. Do we have the right programme on the learn nets? I don't think customers need any help, pretty straight forward.

GoodReads. What a wonderfull website. I found it really easy to use and set up. The ease at finding the books that I have already read and what I want to read next was fantastic. I also liked the groups, and I joined one for Historical Fiction of which I enjoy the most.
What would library staff get out of this site?
I think it would be useful if you wanted to find similar books fast. And get a bigger audience for book reviews and opinions.
Would you promote GoodReads to customers? Why/why not?t
I don't think I would promote it to customers, I think that it conflicts with what we are trying to do with My Library, but I think that GoodReads is superior to My Library. Perhaps we could look at incorporating what they have into My Library.

Twitter:
Is it easy to use?
NO! I found it easy to set up, but I chased my tail and went round and round in circles and spent far more time on it looking for my tweet on the Libary Twitter page than I had wanted to. I felt like I had just wasted my time and Council time doing nothing. I also could not figure out how to reply to a tweet.
Would customers find it simple?
I suppose it depends on how well they use the computers now. I thought it was easy to start with.
Could we use this in the learn.nets and in our workrooms?
I think what it could be used for is already covered on the website and in more detail, than just 140 characters.
Do you think that you're likely to use this site again?
No
What could Manukau Libraries promote via Twitter?
You would only be redirecting them to the website for more information anyway.
What would you use Twitter for?
Nothing.
Would you promote this service to customers? Why/why not?
No. I personally think that it is a waste of time and frustrating.

Is it easy for staff to use?
Very easy. However I was not sure if the file had attached because the box was blank, but when I went to attach again, it told me it was there. Zamzar also said that it would only be available to download the converted document for 24 hours. Seeing as we only get so long for certain things and the email does not happen straight away, for us part timers it ended up being frustrating. I am not sure if the conversion happened at all.
Would customers find it simple?
I think so, but frustrating as explained above.
Could we use this in the learn.nets and in our workrooms?
Handy if you are full time perhaps or done if you work consecutive days.
Do you think that you're likely to use this site again?
Yes, if the Library registered with the company and the downloads could last longer than 24 hours.
Would you promote this site to customers? Why/why not?
I would only promote to customers if the conversion happened straight away. But I think a lot of people want things to happen instantaneously, so you would probably have to explain the time delay.
